Stabiliser screw upper bearing

Hi, We are in the process of rebuilding 1957 PA-18A s/no 18-5805 and possibly need to replace the upper stabilised screw bearing, part no. 20491-003. Univair advise that the bearings are no longer available, does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative?
Thanking you in advance,

Cheers Bill Henwood

Bill, It is simply a piece of tubing that is reamed. I would think either Airframes or Univair could sell you the part since they both build new fuselages. I think the salesman got your part confused with something else.

Thanks Steve, thought it odd that they couldn't supply. I'll have another look at our fuselage and see what the bearing is like. I was looking for ball bearings or something similar :)

cheers Bill
