PA12 fuel tanks

I am building a Wag-Aero Super sport and planning to use a pair of PA12
fuel tanks. I would like any information on the installation. The wing drag
brace wires are what I'm concerned about. I assume they must run under
the tanks.

On a PA 12 they do in deed run under the tanks, unlike the solid struts that run through the PA18 tanks.

Bingo..only on the Atlee Dodge tanks for the PA-12 and 14 does a solid strut run diagonally through the tank like the PA-18 set up. Crash

OK I guess what I need to know is how are the drag braces connected in a PA12 wing? The stock set up I have doesn't let the tanks sit all the way down in the bay. I can make fittings that will move the attach points of the drag braces lower but I would like to know how Piper did it.

next time I get out to the hanger with my camera I will pull an inspection cover and snap a couple of pictures and post. I don't have prints, but I do know a neighbor that does. I will try to borrow them and scan the secton and post.

Thanks for the help. Looking forward to seeing pictures. I'm not in a big
hurry. Right now I'm working on the landing gear and cockpit. It will be a
month or two before I finish the wings.
