What is "Skywagon II"

I'm seeing some 185's called a "Skywagon II"- what exactly does that mean? Are all plane after a certain year a "Skywagon II?" Was it an option?

It's a more deluxe version with extra factory installed equipment for more money. Interior and radios being just two of the items. You would need to look at an original brochure for the details.

I picked one up at the factory in 1979. When asked the sales rep said "they go faster"

The "year model changes" info from the old skywagons-r-us website sez:

" 'Skywagon II' preferred options package available"
for both the 180 & 185 starting in 1978.

Many years ago a Cessna dealer told me the "II" model came with an IFR panel.

I pretty sure that they went to a 28 volt system also

They all went to 28 volts in 1978.

all II models are faster...

Like all amplifiers, (though rare) are better if they go to 11.:lol:
