Other than the plate in SB 706B, has anyone used or seen a nice, simple beef up for this area on the old frames?

Hi Mark,
I have been grinding off the old tabs and welding on a 1" strap all the way across
in one peace. It is simple and fast and doesn't depend on the old tubing Wayne

Thanks Wayne, That is exactly what I'm doing. I am also going to replace the short round cross tube with square stock to give more strength and welding area.

Thats good, I hadn't thought about the cross tube. If you kept it flush with the
bottom of the long. it would make welding easeier and solid. Thanks Wayne
