Float Struts

Need a couple length's of 6061 T6 streamlined tubing for the front float struts on a homebuilt S/Cub. The outside measurement is 3 3/4 in. by 1 9/16 in. They are approx 40 in. long. Does anyone know a good place to purchase the material either new or used? TIA

Tim is in the shop Mon to Thur with Clair at SnF showing off the new 3500's. Not sure if he'll want to resell strut material that's being brought in for their floats....but worth a call to find out. I supply his spreader bar material, but not the uprights.

Float struts

Wipaire sells the different lengths of struts (PA-18, PA-12). Another source would be Aerocet floats, they install the rib into the strut making very strong, the flip side is that the structural load goes to the weakest member, so instead of ripping the floats off you do something to your airframe.
