You'all be careful out there, ya hear?...

The Flip Flop Flyers. Bend an airplane and you get a special gift in the mail. Bill Tracy thought theyshould be gold plated since it usually cost $20K to qualify. ;) How many people have gotten more than one?

You can always buy one for your friend in the store if it is one I don't know about - or for yourself....

SOME people I have had to quit sending hats to. It was getting to expensive to send so many.

Steve-

Perhaps you should make a hat that has the writing "don't use the brakes" on the brim so you can read it while wearing it:snipersmile:

Ha... Got my hat... "Flip Flop Flyers" Can't say I really really wanted one.. but, now that I have one, it is actually kinda my favorite hat. It has already gotten some pretty funny comments from my non flying friends here, and I'm curious now to see what others say.

I was feeling kinda down about my ordeal, then my son told me one day, "Pop, ya can't tell war stories if ya never been to war".... Yup, well, now I just put on my new "been to war/flip flop flyers" hat and begin to tell and embellish the hell out of my war story whenever someone asks about it.. ha ha

Thanks a lot for the hat, but sorry, don't really want another one...

Pop's,

Heard you was flying low and the biggest darn wolf in the lower 48 jumped up in front of you...

You being a good citizen and all attempted to do some environmental management with a bushwheel, and the drag got to you:angel:

Will that story work?

Great one pops! Elvis would have been proud!

Great tune.
I didn't want my hat. (Insert red face here) But, thanks to those caring folks who sent it to me.

From a reflective view, as I recall my former life before sc.org....

Getting a hat is a good thing all in all. Getting a pine box is bad.

This from Alaska State Troopers:

Location: Delta Junction

Case Number: 11-68607

Type: Fatal Aircraft Crash

Text: At 1515 on 7/17/2011 Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified of a
plane crash near a private runway in Delta Junction. According to
witnesses, shortly after Eric C. Corl, 28, of Fairbanks, departed the
airstrip in his Piper PA-12, the engine started making odd noises and
quit. While attempting to turn back towards the runway, the aircraft
apparently stalled midway through the turn and crashed nose first into
trees and the ground. Corl was transported to the Family Medical Center
in Delta Junction, where he was stabilized for medical evacuation to
Anchorage. Corl died en route to Anchorage. The NTSB and FAA have been
notified.

Prayers to Eric Corl's family, that is too bad, but another try to "turn back" mistake it sounds like. Oliveros, sorry about your luck too. Enjoy your hat, I have mine put away.

Steve Pierce, that is a real bold "YOU" in Steve J's response too you??

Hmmm, I shoulda qualified for one of those hats two years ago when I broke my airplane, to the tune of about $40K worth of repairs.

Only my pride was hurt, and little my pane. Neither of us, my son and I got hurt.
