WTB: Square Tail 182

Been looking for some time for an airplane to use for my works trips and occasional family trips too. I considered the 180/185, Beech F33A, B-55, Comanche, and about everything in between. My average distance is 250 NM and when I factored in initial cost, maintenance, insurance, and short field capability the less than glamourous Cessna 182 seems to win out.

If anyone on here has or knows of a nice 1956-1959 Cessna 182 please let me know. I have seen all that is currently advertised in the normal places and will continue to look.

Engine time is not especially critical nor are avionics. I am looking for a clean straight airframe. Over time I can address the rest.

Greatly appreciate any leads!

Still looking. A few nicer ones recently have been posted but each had something wrong that was very difficult to remedy. I have my clipwing sold but do not want to let it go until I find a good 182. Appreciate the help!

I have but one of the things I'd like to be able to do is land here on my strip when conditions are right. The older 182's can do it, not sure I could get a Cherokee 6 in and out of here. It's Just 1000'

I do much prefer the Lycoming.

Straight tail 182 is a greatly versatile airplane, and nothing wrong with an O-470. I own a '54 180 because I like paying ridiculous insurance rates. lol
