Wing (Flap & Aileron) PA-18 vs. PA-12

First of all, I have to ask all readers to be patient, I do not know if I explain well in English what I am looking for. By the way, I did not find any answer to my questions in the previous discussions.

I'm restoring a crashed PA-12 and the wings too.
The original wings of the PA-12 have no flaps, but I go to modify mine with PA-18 flaps and while doing so, I figured out, that there is a big difference in false spars of PA-18 and PA-12.
The PA-18 false spars are curved (convex) in the Aileron area and the -12's are straight.
In the -18 Flap area can be mounted the curved sheet *), mounted outside to the false spar (simulating the curved (convex) false spar of the PA-18, or to close the gap). While in the -18 Flap area the false spar is straight.
Looking and comparing for the -12 and the -18 Aileron the gap is larger in the -12 !
The leading edge of the -12 Aileron is different to the -18, but -12 Aileron and -18 flap leading edge is identical!

The early -18 wings had the same aileron mechanism and I think also same false spar as the -12 has.

My question is:
can be mounted the curved sheet *) onto the false spar in the Aileron area of the -12 wing too, using the -12 Aileron?
Has this ever been tested?

Or is it generally recommended to use PA-18 wings/flaps on the -12, adding the curved sheet *) in the flap area?

*) ; P/N 12795 and P/N 12795-1; Fairing - Flap, dtd. 1950

Thanks for any hint and useful comment !

You probably should call Ron Sullivan in Ak. He has the proper paperwork and drawings for the mod. If you are keeping it legal might want to consider it.
