Where did you fly today?

Holy smokes, Maximus! Where in the world are you flying? Don't you have anything approximating even a baby mountain? That is nauseatingly flat country! :-) I had not realized how spoiled I might be by getting to navigate in our Alaska mountains!

Terrain makes flying via pilotage easy....I respect flatlanders that can somehow know where they are. Water towers with names?

These days Gary they need to start putting names on the s&$@ wind towers.
That and the 1000’ tall punji sticks they call antennas. We don’t have those in the northeast.

Had a Green Beret roommate in school. He mentioned those sticks and the metal insoles they finally came up with pre-'67.

Flew the first day of my two-day trip from Oshkosh to Fredericksburg TX today. Overnight in Pittsburg, KS. Will finish the trip tomorrow. Too danged cold in Oshkosh!!

Was a great Thanksgiving weekend here. We flew everyday starting Wednesday afternoon when I took the Littles to the river. They had a hoot throwing rocks that Chewy chased.

Yesterday I finished the trip from Oshkosh WI to Fredericksburg, TX. Another 7 hours in the saddle, making for a total of 14.2 for the trip. You can't beat a Cub for seeing the country! But I have to admit that my butt was ready to be out of that seat by the end of the trip. Now more Texas flying adventures to come!!

Took advantage of the mild weather to play in the snow, not much sunlight as we get near to the winter solstice. The moon sure was bright and high in the sky.

Lakes patrol yesterday. Gull is over half open with lots of Bufflehead duck rafts coming through.

The Eagles were taking the Buffleheads out. I didn't use the best fast action camera, so didn't get many pics. But in this one you can see an Eagle in a hard bank making a gun run on the Buffleheads.

Nothing like a couple of good December ski days to stretch the legs out.

Ice fog is thick here today, so no flying today. Did want to share with the group here, my daughter and her family came to visit this summer. I see a few here that have grandkids, we made tie dyed tee shirts and some cub rides. Was a great way to keep everyone involved while others took a quick ride and making the shirts was great fun and very cheap. :)

A local flight yesterday. Williams reservoir in SW Colorado
