Nice strip! I know nothing of your experience at avoiding a cabin raid by the cirtter that left you that pile, and cannot see the latch side of your cabin entry door - but depending on the experience of that critter, you nail board is not wide enough on the latch side. (Hinge side amply reinforced.) An experience cabin raider knows to get his claws under the edge of a window shutter or door and pull outward - as opposed to push and scratch inward. He can still do that from the side of your nail board. Don't ask how I know this.

I flew home to Cody WY; not very exciting I know but the fun part was I was flying my "new" PA-18 home.

It is my first plane and the only one I ever yearned for. I am looking for tips, hints and suggestions.

Wow, thats a NICE airplane! Congratulations. Suggestions…. Maintain her well, change the oil often, 25 hours or 4 months which ever is first, fly conservatively, don't take chances or succumb to peer pressure, fly high enough to be able to make an emergency landing, fly high enough that you don't hit anything, if it needs any mods get the safety mods before you get performance mods, match the mods to the mission, read old posts here on this site, buy lots of gas fly and enjoy!

Nice Cub ---enjoy --- with the abilities of the cub, do be careful. Some will try to talk you into things you may not be ready for. As my old instructor told me many years ago "if is doesn't feel right, don't do it" and "remember there are things you DON"T have to do---the one that saved this old geezer's ars one stormy night when I stuck myself into a thunderstorm . "no matter what happens, ALWAYS remember to fly the airplane" Best of luck from a displaced Dayton, Wy. native':-?

My Lady and I, she likes to take cool photos while I fly.

The Army was hard at it too, there were 3, H-47s working the area.

Took my wife for her first flight in a Super Cub combined with a couple of off airport landings, west of Cody WY

Thanks to my buddy JD for taking us out.

She looks like a toy in my new hanger. LOL

Yep. There are several on man made islands out in the middle of the river. We had a visit from Esso oil field workers on a boat, they wanted to make sure we weren't having mechanical issues

90D43B62-0E23-48DB-B610-83B696B92CEA.jpegWas lucky enough to purchase this jewel off of two of the nicest people you’d ever want to meet. Mickey is what I think of when I think cowboy and will always cherish the stories about his cub (picking up a calf in calving season in the snow on skis and flying it home to nurse it sounds interesting)He owned it and sprayed with it since 1976. Bert his wife was gracious enough to have the bunkhouse ready for our arrival and kept our bellies full for our stay and good thing since closest restaurant was 70+ miles away. Thank You Bert and Mickey!
