Where did you fly today?

This is the one you are thinking of Kirby. Hard to see the single wire above the bridge piling. Lou knows where it is. 8)

I flew from ORK (North Little Rock, AR) to ABI (Abilene Texas). Nice weather in Arkansas. 300-2 1/2 in ABI with temps about +2 on landing. Right at the edge of my comfort zone. This picture is north of Dallas just after I picked up an IFR clearance.

Took a short flight this afternoon to an area a little northwest of the airport where moose like to winter. There’s a cow moose just left of center in this image.

I enjoy winter flights looking for game. Mostly elk and moose but sheep and deer too.

I went to North Little Rock on a much nicer day, but I have to admit I cheated and lounged in the back while Molly built some Cub time.

Started at the beach earlier this week, then flew really high - for the hell of it - this weekend, then landed a meadow at 9800' that should be under 8' of snow by now. Trying to feel the pain of winter with you guys but mother natures not cooperating on the west coast.

20 degrees here today, a little wind and a negative density altitude of several thousand feet made for some nice performance.

JP, can you give me an idea of your location when you took that photo? Name the Lake/pond in the foreground?

Was negative 3500 feet here yesterday. Jumped off the ground but controls were a bit stiffer. I'll prefer the 60 plus they are for casting for this weekend.

While the truck drivers were gone hauling corn to the mill, and potatoes to the chip plant, Andrew and I made the high level executive decision to chuck our responsibilities, and play hooky for the afternoon. Took 2 of our shop mechanics for a cheeseburger at Tom Fords stomping ground, Nicatous Lodge on Nicatous Lake in downeast Maine. Prob is they arent open this winter, all we found was a guy swinging a hammer not flipping burgers. Off to the north into a little town with a little walk to cheeseburgers.
22 degrees and no wind seems like a summer day after the last couple weeks. Hang on to your snowplow, its coming tomorrow.

Have to be fair now. When drivers are all caught up you have to take them to.

Oh yeah, the lodge changed ownerships they dont rent out any cabins or serve food. If your standing on the lake looking at the lodge, go to the road, hang a right, over the bridge over the river and a couple thousand feet up is a snack shack with awesome food. Not sure if they are open for the sled season yet,

Offer him a plane ride, he hates flying ha ha
