Hi, still enquireing about wheel mud scrapers for Super Cub with 800/6 tires and cleveland wheels and brakes. Can anyone out there please point me in the right direction. We fly off a cow paddock and am sick of cleaning cow s--t of the underside of the wings.
Thanks, andy

Maybe you need item 212 on the type certificate, Consolidair wheel fenders. They might be hard to find. They are not wheel pants. Look kinda like coolie hats. jrh

Andy,

I've never seen what you describe on a Cub but then I don't see many Cubs with tires that would fit into gravel guards. Here's a link to the only gravel guards I know of that are approved (Cessna). We see lots of them on 206s and 207s around Alaska but not much else. It would be fairly simple to fab something similar for a Cub but approval may be a chore. No harm in asking. Good luck.

Used to see similar gravel guards on the nose wheel of B-737s when they flew into Unalakleet (before the strip was paved).

These are wheel "Spats" according to Maule...hpim0129bk1.webp
