What are these LED's?

I have a quote to upgrade my LED's on my C-185.

It looks like my plane has some LED's installed- but they seem to be in the original assembly?

Are these LED's just bulbs or something?

I just don't want to swap one $500 light out for another $500 light- but these don't look like LED's I see for sale from Wheelen or AeroLED's.

What do I have here ? Couldn't seem to locate it in the logbook.

What do the AeroLED's or simliar get me over these that are already installed?

Why do you want to replace what is already installed? No offense, but your question sounds like “I want the latest, baddest there is”.

The question you should be asking yourself is more like “are these lights bright enough?”

if they work, leave em alone.

One thing led to another.

One of my strobe power supply boxes is out- so it needs replaced.

My strobes when on give feedback to radio- so will rewire everything with shielded and install LED there. They dont get used due to the feedback. Decreased safety.

Going to add housed wingtip lights from Stene aviation (similar to knots2 U) with wigwag. Definitely will make plane more visible.

Basically if I am doing it I just want to do it right and be done with lighting. Rewire everything with shielded.

I am dealing with another power supply box out on my cub- that one involves cutting out access panels to that werent cut when it was recovered in 2019 and getting panels painted. That power box was brand new in 2019.

I am beginning to adopt the position that when something is not right to just spend the time/money to do the long term fix so that hopefully I never have to think about it again.
