Went For Broke . . . Now Broke

Congratulations Amy, Hope to see you competing in the Greenville Seaplane fly-in with it.

Awesome airplane! I fly an arctic tern out of a 900' private strip north of you about 25 minutes. Maybe we will numb into each other one day, see what we can get in and out of in this challenging state of MN. ha.

Hey Amy, bring the Cub up to the Seaplane convention at Maddens 9Y2 next week. (make Grant pay for gas) We can get some good air-air shots (when the exhibitor section isn't busy) of you.

Congratulations on securing your ride to next years Sun N Fun! Looks great.

I better leave now . . . with my luck, there will be hell and fire and brimstone along the way ;)

Congrats. Amy she's a beautiful bird ...how about Johnson Creek this year???

Planning on Lock Haven, I hope. I wish I could do both but one big trip and it's just so darned hard to stop going someplace like Lock Haven. Plus, she needs some bigger tires so she's not stuck at the kid's table :)

Congratulations Amy, that's awesome. :cheers
What is her name?

Have Fun

Jim

So far she is just the Oklahoma kid. At some point in time I might actually begin to say "my airplane" without feeling like I'm cheating!

Congrats Amy. I'm downsizing to J3, having my first lesson in one 60 years ago hate to say.
Jim

It sure is different than a Super Cub . . . I have been rather spoiled. But, there was immense pleasure gained from cracking open a fresh sectional and following a highway home. I had a borrowed 496 sitting on the back seat (mostly because it took forever to spool up) that I pulled out when I got near the Twin Cities airspace, but it was fun getting back to basics. About those seat cushions, though . . .

Congrats Amy, was nice to see you at SnF. Looking forward to seeing your cub, and watching you beat Douten like a rented mule

Jim

I assure you, no one has anything to worry about from me! Just getting acquainted with the airplane and have lots to refresh/relearn after getting a little out of practice on the J3/PA-11.

Congratulations Amy! Nothing like owning a Cub! From the picture, I take it that it will be based at KSGS?

Mike

Mike, that would be ideal but not sure if something will open up. I have a t-hangar in Lake Elmo lined up starting May 15, but would really like to be at SGS because, well, it's right outside my window :) Apparently I am number 22 or something depressing on the waiting list. Soooooo, if you hear of anything . . . ;)

Don't forget to call these guys for warranty work.

Glenn

I hear they're expensive. :Gsnide:

Congrats! More photos! ;-)

Here she is down at Stanton Airfield! Made a few landings on their beautiful grass runway to get a little better acquainted (and redeem myself for the rather ugly first two I made bringing her home).

Congratulations Amy! Beautiful Cub! Does it have a name yet?
Hope to get to fly with you some this summer!!
windy

Guess it is a good thing she has a cruise prop on, so she can almost keep up!

Congrats Amy, I was going to say to bring it to Greenville so I could get beat by a girl again:toilet before Glenn did. But I guess Scouter  fired the first shot.

You got beat by a girl once? I don't foresee floats this year for sure, though we do have a lovely seaplane base right down the road from work. Lots to learn on that front for sure.

Great news Amy. Enjoy her in good health, tailwinds, and pillow soft landings.

Kevin

Still waiting to redeem myself from the first landing when I stopped prior to South St. Paul . . . thank goodness it was at the far end of the airport!!

Don't know when I will make it back to Greenville, but what a cool fly-in. So thankful I managed to make it once, even if it was cold and rainy (aka Maine?). I still daydream about the food.

Pop on over sometime--I have only seen the Arctic Tern in pictures before! I looked at hangaring the airplane near Somerset at a private strip, but managed to find something a little closer for now. Certainly less stress flying out of a field (exhibit A: borrowed a handheld radio and tried to use it once just for grins and giggles. Received response it was squealy and garbled. Subsequently turned radio off and called it good).

I suspect I might be driving a minivan stuffed with fun meters and floating key chains up there, but I will be making it to the event this year (first time!). We shall see! Definitely looking forward to attending. PS I need some pointers on how to get Grant to pay for the gas ;)

...don't all cubs and Super Cubs want to be PA-11s?

Congratulations!

No, but they sure want to fly like them!!! Although, you have a 95 cub, it is pretty dan close to that type of flight...

Congrats Amy!!! Nice looking bird!

Glenn - I think the upper right PA-11 is me flying in the back seat. So it would have been last year. idk - Who are the others?
