A friend has a Zenith that he painted all white, then got vinyl wrap for color add on. His thought was, get bored with the color, new wrap, though I understand they're not cheap.
Any new information on this? I see Cleetus McFarland got a wrap on his Carbon Cub. I'd love to know who does this so I could get some more information.

I ran a sprinter van over 100k in the northeast and it still looked great. Also wrapped the bow l of a waterski promo boat back in ‘96. Worked awesome.
My only question would be how it holds on fabric that is flexible by design, and the weight. If you need to paint the surface prior to applying the vinyl it’s loses a lot of the value.
They are external attitude references. They're aligned with the aircraft's axes and positioned along the pilot's line of sight to give a quick visual guide to the aircraft's attitude during aerobatic maneuvers.
I think it looks great and have seen some really amazing stuff done with it. I've also seen a cub covered with blue poly tarps....didn't look so great but flew in and had been flying..... but bottom line is what the feds say...and I'm agreeing with them less and less every day, but they still have authority of certain aspects of our chosen hobby/profession.

In stating that the vinyl on my RV-7 has held up great after 6 years is not fair since the bird has always been hangered. Curious to see how the elements would effect the fabric and vinyl, I covered an old cub rudder I had with Oratex 3000 and stuck some 3M vinyl letters on it. It's been outside now for nearly a year. Every so often I clean it off, bang it with a hammer a few times and stick it back outside. The strength of the Oratex is quite remarkable. I removed some of the vinyl, which came off easily, leaving no trace. The finish on the Oratex is still indistinguishable from a new piece. Will keep you posted
