The 10th Annual is on the calendar.
Last year we had thin ice and no snow. This year we have decent ice and "some" snow.
We moved the food and beverages to the Northeast corner of the lake last year which allowed us to use their facility and the locals were able to park and enjoy. This year we have another twist. Full Throttle Snowmobile Drags will be happening on the lake the weekend before our event. They will be plowing and grinding a drag strip on the ice for the event. They hit speeds up 200 mph on the lake! I will be scoping out the strip and have a report as to the usability for an ice runway. The other good news is that they are plowing a huge area for the event so we should have decent parking available.
The Blue Moose (formerly the Horseshoe Lake Inn) will cater a lunch menu. (As always food is compliments of Trick Air Skis).
If you are looking to come up on Friday and/or stay over on Saturday Big Sandy Lodge is the next lake over.
Here is a link to them: Big Sandy Lodge their phone is 218-426-5040
We will have snow and runway information as we get closer to the date. As of today we have plenty of ice at with little to no overflow and a few inches of snow.
For advanced planning we are MN61 and we are about 8 miles NE of KHZX which has 100LL and tie downs.
