The Last Spraker Fuselage

So, life got in the way of working on this project, but I have recently reengaged. I'm planning on more of a PA-11 build as I already have a bunch of parts and a collection of small Continental engines. As I'm keeping this build basic and light, I would like input as to keeping the USA35B airfoil or something like the 23012 or newer Ribblet. I don't need heavy lift so I would like to trade for less drag to help cruise. Any suggestions or educated opinions are welcome. Also please feel free to offer suggestions as to AOI changes to work with whatever airfoil. I am planning on sticking a little A65/O-200 crank hybrid on it and limit it to LSA weight.

Thanks all!

If you go with the 23012 you will need to increase wing AOI by about 1 1/4° - 1 1/2° to make it work with the original tail positioning. The Ribblet will work pretty good, either the 63" or 66". I ended up going wit the 2412 modified to 2413.5. I only have one AC flying with that wing but performed great and no modification to wing or tail positioning at all. Was slightly faster than the stock USA35B on a Clip Wing Cub. Can use same strut length as original. Only thing that changes is fairings and birdcage upper shape. The upper door (window) hinge line might need to be lowered by about 1/2" to accommodate the under cambered airfoil. The "Cessna" section is what I am using on my stretched Pacer and has been used by others quite successfully ............................. Badlands STOL is the first that comes to mind.

I'll have to get with you on this project.

I am also considering the Riblett 30-413.5(Bearhawk). I have a friend local to me building the Bearhawk LSA so I may just use that as a basis to work from.

Anyone have any input for using the Riblett 30-613.5 on an LSA Cub with a C85? Decrease the wing area a bit maybe? The Bearhawk has less area than the Cub using this airfoil. Looking for ideas and advice.
