Tailwheel spring

I think this has been discussed before but cant seem to find it. My question is which pawnee tail spring works the best for skis and rough field . I talked to univair and they where not sure. I think the 3 leaf 1 hole but there is also the 4 leaf. 105.24 for 3 leaf and 124.00 for 4 leaf.

Also is there an stc or must I do a field approval

I have this STC, and the accompanying drawings clearly document that the spring to be used is a one hole four leaf spring.

If anyone knows of a different STC that doesn't preclude the removal of one leaf (while still complying with the paperwork) I'd be interested in hearing about it.

We have the 4 leaf Pawnee tail spring on our pacer. The tail is much more solid than the 3 leaf which I like better. It also performs very well on rough fields.

Cubcrafters STC also includes using the 2 hole Tailwheel. Shows four springs with that setup. they never seem to send all the paperwork for either setup when you get an STC from them.
