I've seen the slotted spring mounted as #4 (bottom) and #3 also... It would seem that the bolt attaching the tailwheel assembly would be more stable if the bottom spring had the 'bolt size' hole and the #3 spring had the slot that allowed it to move when it flexes. I've been unable to find any drawings that specify how the spring leaf stacking sequences. Any help is appreciated.
Also, what is the best way to lubricate the springs and tailwheel block pad to allow the spring to move when it flexes? Any suggested torque value or method in tightening the assembly to the spring?
