I bought an old style 3 1/8 inch tach for my PA-12 with an O-320. Instead of being externally threaded on the back where the cable nut screws onto the tach this one is internally threaded. Has anyone ever seen this before.

Thanks John thats all I needed to know. The tach is in great shape so all I will need is a cable. Skip

I looked at that Steve and it won`t work but thanks for the thoughts anyway. I will need a cable that has a female threaded nut on one end and a male threaded nut on the other end. It`s a great tach and looks brand new I just need to make it work somehow. I have all of the other old gauges so I just needed this one.

Was the tach housing female threaded, all of the elbow adapters I have seen have a male end and a female end I would need one with 2 male ends. Let me go back and check Aircraft Spruce and see if they have one I may have missed.

I checked all of the usual suspects and all they have are 90 degree adapters with a male on one end and a female on the other and that won`t help. I am hoping Keystone can make a cable with a male nut on one end and a female on the other. If you have something that will work please let me know. Thanks Skip
