Darrel Starr provided an excellent wiring diagram for the PA-18 that he created while working on his plane. It is available for free download in the Tech Articles section of the members area (it's the last document at this moment).

Thanks, Darrel!

Thanks Steve for including the diagram in the Tech Area. I drew this on AutoCAD as a .dwg file and just recently converted it to a .pdf file using Adobe Illustrator. We have found that Kinkos and probably other similar businesses will print this file in this format for about $4 to $5 in black and white -- color is about 10 times as expensive but the black and white version is just fine to read. If you are really going to study the drawing, I recommend you go to the trouble of printing it because the 16 x 45 inch diagram is much easier to read when you can easily move your eyes across it. Just download the file onto a memory stick and take it to Kinkos. I have found that they can print it in just a few minutes.

Hi Darrel,

Nice. May I ask what the red out-lines are for? Viewing on the IPAD with "retina" is almost like paper!

Cool!

The red dotted lines are just my way of highlighting a grouping. For instance, the red box around the circuit breakers is just my way of drawing attention to all of those things being physically located together - in the panel in this case. Not a very important part of the drawing, just helps to group things in my mind.

Thank you.

Just one more thing. If you download this wiring diagram and have any questions, email me at darrelstarr@aol.com. I will be glad to try to answer questions. And if any of you have similar diagrams, especially if they are Experimental and include "Glass" components, please also submit them to SJ to be available in the Tech Section.
