Super Cub Spray system

Good day everyone

It seems like this has been discussed quite a few times in the past but I can’t find anything recent

I want to install a spray system on my experimental Cub. I have the pump, the booms and attachment hardware but no hopper. Back in the day when these equipment were in use, the hopper was a tank in the rear which I do not prefer.

I see Sorensen makes/made a fibreglass belly tank/hopper but it seems like the are out of business. Riggin flying services sold their kits at a stage but also no luck in getting a response from them.

Does anyone know where I can find parts(hopper, spray valve etc) for the Cub and does anyone have the installation documents for the spray kits?

Thanks

If you used the a pod instead of a hopper, what else would you need? Will the pump you have draw from a belly pod?

Web

last time i spoke with riggin the cost was very high...nothing against them but you would be better to look for a used system. I think there are some threads on here where guys offered to sell systems they have had in the barn for years. Probably little help but I know a guy in canada that has one.

Thank everyone for the reply’s. I will be using the Cub on our farm for low volume vineyard fruit fly bating so not needed to be certified and with operating certificates.
The pump is the original setup as used in the 50’s/60’s but some modifications will be needed to work via belly pod and not hopper inside. But not a big problem

I’m unsure how the Super Cub setup works but on the bigger sprayers you have a supply from the hopper and then a return that is basically a two way valve that is either open towards the hopper or when moved by the pilot, open towards the booms. So if you modify a fuel pod, you will have to install a dump first of all and then the two pipes entering end exiting the pod on the lowest point

Try Charlie Rogers in Lewistown, MT. I don’t have his contact info so google him up. I would be surprised if he doesn’t have one laying around

Is anyone looking for a Sorensen sprayer kit ?
I have the 90 gal tank for PA-18 with the pump and nozzle.
My plan was to convert for fuel. I'm on amphib now and the filler interfere with the float attach.
Does anyone have pictures of their tank modified for float ? How big of a job ?
