I was helping on a restoration of the owners Aeronca L3 and was helped with some maintenance on the Storch.. Was able to get copies of the maintenance manuals on the Storch, one in French and one in German...

Brian.

Collings foundation has an Argus Storch which has come into Crow Island.Big airplane more like Helio size than cub.Really cool gear that seems to extend forever.

There was a 2/3's scale Storch with a O-200 in it for sale in Seldovia. The fellow that built it passed and his wife had it for sale, don't know if it sold or not, it was very nice had a graphic of a dog sled on the side and painted black, really well done.

That is the one I was referring to. Did the owner just recently pass away? Do you have Anymore info on that plane and yes it's still for sale.

I think Phil passed a couple of years ago now, I'll ask around to see what happened to it and I'll PM you. May be a few days. I remember they were asking something like $45,000 for it. I'm getting old so if you don't hear from me shoot a pm.

When the conversation turns to the Storch, I think of Hanna Reitsch flying one into Berlin at the end of the war through Russian small arms fire, landing in front of Hitler's compound expecting to commit suicide with the others but then, with her General lover ordered by Hitler to fly out again through the gun fire so the General could continue to fight. She lived to 1979. A great pilot and a true Nazi Crazy.

I photographed this one in 2010 at Duxford. I think since then they have "Sold it on" as the British say.

I talked to a guy on this site who once owned a Storch....he also owned an ME109 and a P51....but always regretted selling the Storch. Anyone remember his name?

I flew one of these from PLum Island Mass, to Arlington TX back when Geert Frank was importing planes from Europe. Long SLOW ride in headwinds. The French built these after the war at Moraine Saulnier and used Jacobs radials. Lot of fun....
