Stewart Systems (Aircraft Finishing) Now STC'd

Buggs, do you know if they have any planes painted that have been around 2 or 3 years with cold winters. I mean like 0deg. winters

Tim

Hi Tim,
I know their personal planes have several years on them. No problems there. They are in central WA. My friends Super Cub was done around 4 or 5 years ago with a 337 with AFS and no problems. Looks like new actually. Until last year, the plane was based in South Dakota and Wyoming. I recommend you give them a call for more references. Ask for Dan or Doug.

Is this paint system related to the Blue River process of old???
Thanks

At the Pierce Aero Seminar I had a chance to go over the process and look at some product. Looks like a nifty process and it is also environmentally friendly. Like any process, I'm sure it has its pros and cons but you should give it a looksee.

I've got samples of the paint that are about 8-9 years old and it's the most flexible stuff you've ever seen! Like was said, there's pro's and con's to every system, but this stuff is really great! I'm glad they have it and are doing something with it!! I'm planning on using it!!

We did my square tail surfaces in it and didn't have a problem matching paint to the Stitts from the rebuild. Only been on a year but so far so good and I don't have to worry about my ace A&P getting some weird cancer from isocyanates. I will post photos when I get a chance.

Paint

A friend gave me a test sample. About 6x6" painted white. I carried it in my pocket, Laid it on the dash of my truck and I would show people. You could squeeze it in your hand and flatten it out again and the paint was not cracked and looked good. I believe most people will switch over to this product once they see it. I have seen there planes that have been covered for several years and they look very good. Im going to try and have them put on a demo at our SuperCub Flyinn this June
