Smithcub Aileron cable exit

Would some of you Smithcub guys mind measuring the exit for the aileron cable that comes out the bottom of the wing. I can't read my own pre-cover notes. Would be nice to have an average before I cut the fabric. Gerald, John, Joe, etc.

Thank you

Bill

Bill,
Using the center line of the forward and aft wing strut attach bolt holes as a reference I came up with the following: measuring aft of the forward face of the rear front fitting 17-5/8" to 18-3/4" and outboard of this center line 4-3/16". It is a slot 1-1/8" long. This is for the down aileron cable with the aileron in neutral. It moves forward and aft when the aileron moves.

The up cable ( the one by the strut pulley) is 4-1/2" aft of the forward face of the rear front fitting and inboard of the center of the compression tube 1-13/16". This is the center point of an angled slot 1/2" long.

My wing is a TCOW extended. I don't believe that this should make any difference.

I got several PM's and although they all were measured from different points they all came out about the same. Thus the answer is....

2-5/8" from the center of the compression tube (pretty easy to find as it pushes down through the fabric)

17-5/8 to 18-3/4" aft from the forward face of the rear half of the two part forward strut attach fitting. (basically this is the rear of the forward spar)

Thanks to all for your help.

Bill
