I'm going about the process of possibly buying a c180 with a couple buddies. Insurance requires two of us to fly 10hrs with an appropiately rated cfi before solo. We'd probablt fly more dual than that. The third guy will want to earn his private certificate in the skywagon.

Anyone know a skywagon cfi in denver who I should start talking to:smile:?

hi, I recently relocated from Boulder County to Northern California. Cannot help in Centennial area, but if you can go North then recommend you check with Jason Hurd, owner of Vector Air at Erie Airport. Jason co-owns 180 and also has additional instructors who are capable of 180 check-out. I have more names for tw instructors further north (Longmont, Fort Collins) if needed.

If you ask anyone on the Skywagon group Dave Younkin is the guy you want. Let me see if I can stir up some contact information for you and I'll shoot you a PM. I just wish Jim Densmore was a CFI, he is top notch and has been flying 180s since he was a kid in the 60s. If Dave doesn't work you may be able to talk Jim into something if your insurance is ok with it. He is also a Super Cub tow pilot so can't be half bad

Tony or Al Lopez at front range airport are probably a great resource for getting started. Send me a message and I will get you their contact info.

Yes, another good choice with Tony or his dad Al. Your options are opening up. If you guys get really desperate you may be able to talk me into being your CFI.

Ditto on Dave Younkin. He used to fly locally for the Division of Wildlife and has some 10k+ hours in 185's. He will show you the way....

drrabazz, sent you a PM with Dave Younkin's phone number. Thanks for getting it for me Skywagon185

Thanks for the help guys! I'll give dave younkin a call. I just met a 180 owner here at kapa who has flown with him as well.
