Shipping BW

I shipped my Bushwheels along with the 6” wheels to AK last year and found the best price at Freightcenter.com. They are a freight broker owned by yellow Freight ( I think). They were the cheapest price by far. Also used them to ship my TrickAirs and 8.50’s back to Madison WI. Again, the cheapest. One trick I used was to drop them off myself at the freight terminal. And the pick them up at the freight terminal on the other end. Saved quite a bit doing this as well.

Sold a pair of 26” Goodyears a couple of years ago to a fella in Minn . Took them to the UPS Store , they wrapped them up in plastic, slapped shipping labels on them and off they went . Cheapest ? Dont know , but painless .

A few months ago, I shipped a Stearman tire up to a buddy in Fairbanks. Wrapped it in some of that plastic wrap that clings to itself, taped a label and dropped off at the local Post Office. The least expensive shipping option I found, well below UPS and FedEx and easy. The ABW should collapse making for a much smaller package than a standard tire.

Just going by my observation when I purchased my first set of ABW's (31's) from Bill Duncan in 2002 or '03. He drove up to Fairbanks with a load of deflated ABW's in his truck. They took up much less space compared to the inflated condition. No idea how many tires were in there but way more than if they were inflated. I have never ops tested this as never had the need and before doing so would ask the question. Still running those 31's BTW, zero checks and still look new.

I bought my 31" ABW's from Bill in the late 90's. He mailed them from Oregon, each in a cardboard box. They had just enough air to keep them inflated. I don't remember the postage, but it was cheap, and he paid it.
