SAVING OUR CUB STRIPS

I am passing this letter along to all of you as it is CRITICAL that you get involved (even if you don't live in the area) It is the agenda of "many" to lock Motorized vehicles out of the National forrests "forever". It is also a fact that GA is an easier target then say ATV's or even Jeeps, as there are not very many of "US". By our nature we are independent cuss's and tend not to "get involved" just get away! If "we" can know longer do that if you and I wish to have a place to get away! S))))))))))))))))))))))0000

Please take the time (it takes very little) to pen a line or to and or make a call on this matter (preserving remote strips in the Idaho back country)

If there is an effort (and there is) to lock you out of your area, you should also let us know???

so here is the body of a letter I got for your interest

OK PEOPLE WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!The FEIS is out for public review and comments. You must all respond no later than October 27, 2003. I will supply all information for you to use in your letter, E-mail, or a telephone call response. A letter would be the preferred method to make your comments. But the important thing is that every member contacts the FS on this Management plan. If everyone will do their duty we will blow them right out of the ?Saddle.?
The Idaho Aviation Association and Idaho State Aeronautics support ?ALTERNATE E.?
Under Alternate E management, Dewey Moore, Mile-Hi, Simonds, and Vines landing Strips are maintained by the Forest Service for use as public landing strips to provide wilderness access and recreational opportunities.
Under this Alternative Dewey Moore, Mile-Hi, Simonds, and Vines landing strips would be maintained by the Forest Service for use by commercial and noncommercial aviation.
Just state that you strongly support Alternative E as the management plans for Aviation in the Frank Church- River of No Return.
Sample letter or statement:
I am writing you concerning the FEIS for the Frank Church ? River of No Return Wilderness. As a pilot I support Alternate E as the management plan for aviation in the Frank Church- River of No Return. I strongly urge you to use Alternate E for aviation. I would like a reply to this letter as proof of receipt. Thank you.
Sincerely Mr. or Ms IAA

If you call on the phone voice your preference, ask for and write down the name of the person who took the message. Then E-mail me your name and that persons name plus the date and time your called. I will know what it is about.
We need to keep a score sheet just to make sure the FS follows the rules.

Tim you are absolutely correct on this subject.

WE ALL NEED TO PITCH IN AND HELP

We need all the backcountry strips we have.
To lose them would be unthinkable.

Mark

On a similar note, when contacting Congressmen and the President, etc., the most effective ways are a letter, phone call, or fax. Unless things have changed, those must be logged, while emails face a more uncertain destiny. So write, phone, or fax but don't waste time with emails.

It is furthered suggestion to do all three! Not hard in this day and age Make note on the letter that you sent cc to "the other side of the isle" as well as to those organizations that lobby your cause.
(most folks have included longdistance on their cell phones anyway)

As Nike says: JUST DO IT

I would love to see a "posting confirming all SC.ORG members that actually put pen to where their Heart and mouth is! Come on folks take me up on it! double dog dare ya, (heck the Husky guys started it!, Even the Maule guys are flooding the mail boxes???

My letter:

Dear Sirs,

I have read the above referenced document and as a citizen, pilot and annual visitor to the FCRONR Wilderness Area, Specifically a user of the Mile High, Dewey Moore, and Vines airstrips,I wish to voice my "citizen" comment "officially" that you adopt alternative (E) management plan for aviation in the referenced area.

I wish this E-mail transmission to become a part of the formal "PUBLIC RECORD" and request that you return to me acknowledgment of your receipt of my comment and request.

A copy of this request has been forwarded to my Legislative representation in both houses of Congress as well.

Sincerely in due respect,

Timothy P. Randall
