Anyone have instructions or experience on building a rudder board to measure proper rudder throw for a PA18? I've got a digital woodworking protractor, but it's not ideal for this task.
If you are thinking of something simple, a piece of stiff cardboard measured with your high school protractor and cut at the proper angle should do fine.
Remember, just because the rudder stop is perfect doesn’t mean you will get full rudder deflection. Cable length is a very big part of the equation. And most rudder stops are close to perfect.
Jack the tail off the ground, and get somebody to hold full rudder while you measure.
