I have an area scoped out for hunting Dall Sheep next year. What round does everyone use for hunting them? I am thinking .308.

280 Ackley improved.
Mines a sub 5# rifle including the scope.
.308 would be fine, sheep are not that hard to kill. They do share country with bears. My rifle of choice for sheep the last several years and have had to deal with a few bears, is a Kimber Adirondack in 6.5 Creedmoor. Choose something you can carry a long way and it really helps to have a rig that you can see your impacts with, really helps if you miss. My 6.5 is flat shooting and plenty hard hitting. Lots of eye relief,, very easy to get scope eye shooting up hill.
75 years ago, jack O'Connor would have suggested using a 270.

That's still a viable choice.
Wow nice rifle! Which suppressor are you running on it?
Really good looking sheep!
My son used a 260 REM when he was 11. It worked just fine. Unless the Brooks have changed bears will come play with you so I switched up from a .264 mag to a 300 RUM.
I can’t imagine packing my 300 Remington Ultra Mag stainless bull barrel any great distance. Let alone make the second shot count if I miss my first shot. It was my long range Caribou rifle.. one moose with it, switched to a Weatherby 300 mag. Doesn’t have quite the range and wallop of the 300 RUM…with the Weatherby I’m not flinching on the second trigger pull.
Could have taken this bull with a 30/30….less than 50’ from me when I took it.
