Anyone going to the air races at Reno? While not a lot of Supercubs flying at Reno its a great place to see engine technology. Sheila and I will be there and at Harrahs Thursday thru Sunday. At the races Friday and Saturday. ECI will be sponsoring an aircraft there with either a 370 or 409 in it. Will be interesting to see how its equipped and performs.

Oh crap that's this weekend isn't it. Don't think I'll make it this year.

If either of you would like to meet to talk SC, aircraft, or in general, give me a call 713-816-0927.

Shooter and Gee Bee--Maybe we can share a cold one, or a car if it works out my cell is 509-322-4610.

Doug and Shooter, Thanks, if i was solo I would take you up on that, but i am over on the West side of Tahoe and I am entertaining 6 guests. However I will be in box C82 on Thursday. Swing on by and I will buy you and me a cold one and we can talk

Thanks GeeBee. Won't be on field until Friday. Arrive Reno Thursday PM.

What Reno needs is a supercub class I'd love to see a bunch of supercubs with bush wheels running around the pylons

Interesting day today. The Breitling Rocket man's support truck collided with the prop of a Grumman Hellcat. May be built "Ford Tough" but it met its match with a big Ham-Standard. The debris flew and damaged an aileron and elevator as well. Then suddenly the rocket man's gig was called off. Then they could not get a quorum to race the unlimiteds. Disappointing because the two things I wanted to see the most were cancelled.

There should be an event for Cubs. Whoever can fly a prescribed course in the longest time wins. I'm guessing this event would have very limited appeal !!

I was thinking if there was an SC race everyone would figure how to fit stock tailwheels to the main axles!

Got back from Reno last night. What a great time we had. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Eric, a PA-12 owner and supercub.org member from the upper NW on Friday. He kindly offered the use of his front row box and refreshment. We had a good time speaking with him. Thanks much Eric. I also met up with Doug Sapp, another supercub.org member on Saturday. We spoke for an extended period of time about supercubs and told each other several war stories. We are going to try to get together in the future for some hog hunting on my ranch in central Texas. My wife, the luckiest person I know, attended a reception at Harrah's with me on Saturday night for race attendees. She won a $6000.00 Brietling watch (Breitling was the major race sponsor) and then went to the slot machines and won an additional $3100.00 bucks. I'm going to sell the watch, buy a new prop for my J-3, and put the remaining funds in my supercub project fund jar. I'm going to keep the wife. Based on the good time had, we are going to have to go back next year.

Been there, done that. Crewed with Race 89 AT-6 "Baby Boomer". Had a great time in Reno and it's good to be home now!
