Recharging a Odyssey battery??

I accidentally left the master on in my Smith Cub, and ran the Odyssey stone dead. I tried charging it with a standard auto type charger, but it didn't charge very well. Does the Odyssey battery take a special charger, or will any auto unit work? If I'm doing something wrong, please somebody let me know.

Trickle charger 1-2 amps.

Seems to me we did the same thing with one of ours. Had the same results as you with a regular charger. We purchased an Odyssey charger and the battery came back to life and is still strong two years later. Like you we were discouraged with the auto charger results but are now very pleased. I don't recall where we purchased the units but it was on line.

Trickle charger. Once it's back up somewhat, and not sulphated or shorted, don't ever try to put more than 30 amps into it. If you have a 60 amp alternator and an AGM battery, better think about a resistor in series with your field winding....
