Rear baffle oil cooler stc

I purchased a complete 160hp engine that already has the oil cooler mounted on the rear baffle. I purchased Cub Crafters STC for the 160hp upgrade, however, Cub Crafters will not sell their rear oil cooler STC without selling the whole kit. Any suggestions on how to get the oil cooler approved without converting back to the original installation or buying the whole kit from CUB Crafters?

Put on the PPI exhaust.

Since Cub Crafters wants about a thousand dollars for their kit, This may be a better route to take. The problem is I already have the Leading Edge exhaust and was trying to solve my problem without spending this kind of money. By the way, local FAA does not seem to interested in a field approval without significant testing. Ironically, the supercub this engine came out of had the oil cooler approved with a 337.

I think i got mine on the 150 hp from stoddards.I will check,it was about 175.00 for just the stc and hoses and you are supposed to put a lip on the underside of the cowl opening.

Crosswinds STOL also has an STC for the rear cooler. Crash

Thanks to everyone for their PMs and responses in this forum. Although I frequently buy parts from the vendors listed, I was unaware they offered this stc. I'll fix my paperwork problems at the Alaska Trade Show this weekend and without being forced to buy a complete kit. No more worries and many thanks to this forum :lol:
