Postion/Nav lighting system recommendation

Hi Folks,

After starting 1.5 years ago on a bare bones basic wide body SC fuselage from Javron and the various weld yourself kits, I think I am finally done the most of the welding. I now need to select the lighting system so I can weld any necessary mounts. I would like to go with LEDs for pos/nav strobes and landing lights. I would prefer the wingtip strobes and a small recognition light on the rudder. Just wanted to ask for advice or recommendations on manufacturers. There seem to be a few selections out there.

many thanks
Wendel

Aveos are very popular right now. Whelen makes great stuff, too. Most install in a similar fashion so look at what's available and choose. I recommend bright as possible. A good rule is that the more power the light uses, the brighter it will be. Look for the maximum current draw (amps) of the lights and compare. And when we're talking 'more power', we're only talking about the difference from, say, .6 amps to .9 amps for a nav light. If you add up the total current draw for three navs, three strobes, and two landing lights, of any model, it will add up to less than a single incandescent landing light.
