We greatly appreciate those of you who give Young Eagle flights to youngsters, regardless of where they are given! We are preparing for the New Holstein Taildragger Flyin and the Young Eagle Rally (Sunday, July 20, Airport Appreciation Day) and with that comes the need to check on your certification indicating that you have completed the Youth Protection Training and Background Check.
How do you know if your certification is current? Log into your EAA account and see your status! I just did and here is what I learned...
So, I completed the Youth Protection Training (which took about 3 minutes), and submitted the information regarding the Background Check, and received the following message:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROCESS TAKES 7-10 DAYS!
Regardless of where you are giving YE rides, you will need this certification. I know it is a hassle, but you are providing an exceptional opportunity to get youngsters into the air! What a tremendous and impactful gift!
