Piper SB 1044 and that hole in the leading edge

The big gaping hole-- 1.375"--- has to be in a spot where you can inspect the strut attach fittings and I guess you plug it with a cap or plug.

Bradshaw says the order is already here -- mandatory tear-down to inspect for and replace corroded steel wing parts

I can't find the Tinnerman part no. A6914-1024-1 the SB 1044 recommends. Anybody know where to find those hole covers besides going to Univair and giving them an arm and a leg for them, one for each wing? Thanks. If I find a source, I'll publish it here, natcherly.

It isn't mandatory and I haven't been installing them on wings I rebuild after bead blasting the fittings, epoxy primer and polyurethane top coat. I have the covers if you need some. I bought a large quantity when the SB came out.

Did you get the engine yet?

Steve, the engine came yesterday on an 18-wheeler. It was meticulously crated and packed. I haven't unpacked it yet. Too thrilled! I think I'll put a bow on top of it.

Thanks! :D
