Hey guys!

Here is a question and hereby, is not a bad comment for steve or anything like that.

I was just wondering if any of you guys on the site experienced the photo gallery to be remarkably slow???

I have cable internet access, and cheez, sometimes they just take for ever to load up.

Maybe its during peak times, i dont know... dont know much about internet...

Works good for me. I hit the photo page everyday to see if anything 'cool' is being loaded by folks. If I miss, I check the last 7 days, etc. Use cable/wireless at home with no problems. So I am a camper.

It loads for me in just a few seconds,i wonder how come your setup is slow? Good luck.

Works ok for me and I have 1950s phone lines....

Sometimes the cable/dsl lines have some physical problems or limitations. I have a friend here in Reno who recently had dsl installed, and he was getting REALLY slow downloads. SBC came out and replaced his wall jack and the speed went way up. Not sure how that works.

Run a speed test: http://www.dslreports.com/stest (you have to have java installed, you might by default)

If your download speed is less than 384 kbps, you should call the cable company and complain. Are any other data heavy sites slow? Or just sc.org?

Also, take note of your browser's activity down in the status bar. Sometimes a DNS* lookup(in Firefox it says "looking up supercub.org..." followed by "connected to supercub.org") can take a long time if your DNS server provided by the cable company is slow to respond, or is failing and passing the buck to a secondary.

*Domain Name Service(DNS): It's how a readable name like supercub.org becomes a routable ip address like 216.212.110.149.
