Ladies and Gentlemen....

If you still purchase and enjoy reading REAL (not "E") books...PLEASE read the following and repost for ALL book lovers.

If you purchase an author's book off Amazon.com...ESPECIALLY if you are buying a single book (under $25 and no free shipping) and you purchase it from one of the dealers listed under "new"; in almost ALL cases...the author iz getting... SCREWED ROYAL.

For instance...if you buy my Original "CloudDancer's Alaskan Chronicles", a $19.95 cover price from any of those dealers...I get about a buck-forty-eight. Yes. $1.48

In particular, a United Kingdom (England) based company named The Book Depository (listed as "the_book_depository" on Amazon) consistently prices a book ONE PENNY below ennybuddy else so that they can get TOP BILLING on Amazon.

If you buy my books on Amazon frum ME (listed as "Alaskan Chronicles Dist., L.L.C.") I will make an average of $5 a book instead of $1.48.

I have EMailed these people FOUR times asking simply that they just MATCH my price, as I am willing to compete "fair 'n square" head-on with ennybuddy! They have not even had the courtesy to EMail me ONE response.

If you have the opportunity to purchase your books directly from an author's website or...on Amazon...directly from the author's storefront...PARTICULARY if there is no, or insignificant cost difference...self-published and professionally published authors around the globe would be most appreciative.

Please copy 'n paste this or reposr ENNYwhere book lovers might congregate on the internet with my permission. And THANK YOU for your time!

Hmmm,

Sounds like someone is getting Amazoned!

Shucks cloudy, I never thought about the difference... but I like buying it from the horse's mouth so to speak.

If you was here, I would buy one from you now.

ummmm....

and if you publish it through Apples Ibooks, you get a check/deposit for 70% of the sell price(that YOU set!)...... hmmmm nice math....

I quite like Apple money each month(for my Apps..)....

More importantly, all of these things are negotiable upfront before you do a deal with a publisher. Do the diligence and determine if you want to still own your content or not. Amazon is more of a marketplace than a store themselves these days. Most items are advertised and fulfilled from other companies.

You also have to remember that if you have a distribution channel, no matter how small, they don't appreciate you competing with them selling the same product - especially if you sell it cheaper than the distribution channel can.
