This is a 185F, but something to tease owners with.
In a perfect world it would have a GTN750/650 combo and full Garmin EIS instead of the EDM but this is pretty nice.

Here’s a layout for the next 180A project.

G5 / G3X / GTN650 / GTX345

Customer wants to keep a 4 pack of steam gauges.

Im guessing a G5 goes into the small hole adjacent to the steam gauges.
What goes into the larger rectangular holes (center & right)?
And the two rectangular holes down in the glove box area?

G5 centered, G3X to the right since it won’t fit over the yoke.
Short radio stack to the right with a GTN650 over a GTX345.
Remote GMA245R audio panel and GTR20 com will be controlled via G3X.
Full EIS on the G3X.

Left and right openings are cubbys instead of glove box. Left side has a USB port inside.

I had just cut the aluminum so this was just another test fit before prepping for Powdercoat.

Did you have a finished picture of the panel?

Tom, It's not my preference to have the G3X offset / centered, but in an unmodified 180A panel it fits this way.

And bear in mind there's no need for the steam gauges. Those are owner requested triple redundancy as the G3 backs up the G5 and vice versa.

Too used to an auto pilot now.
It would be nice to be able to file and fly in the go fast airplane.

I was pretty jealous the other evening at work. There was someone beating up the pattern in a J3.

Now that you're used to flying in the IFR system, you will be safer doing the same in your own airplane. It would make for a reliable commuter.
