I am installing a new windshield along with a new boot cowl in my J5C project. The project did not have any windshield or winshield parts which came with the project. My manual is of little help. Cub Club index does not show anything as well. Piper S.B. 87 is of some help. I have a round top winshield with dual PA12 windshield collars fitted to the new boot cowl.
(Got the PA12 windshield collars from Glacier Air Spares in Plamer AK - great workmanship and fit)
1. Does anyone use any seal/chafe protection along the boot cowl collars?
2. Are the two straps at the top which hook over the windshield and rap around the tubular support (as shown in J5 S.B. 87) the typical method to attach the top of the windshield to the airframe? If not, how is it typically done?
Thanks, Roger
