PA-18-150 empty weight and CG

I had my 1951 pa18 125 weighed 10 years ago by a guy in wasilla with electronic portable scales. The weight he came up with is 1150lbs. My cub has a 150 ND,HD STD. GEAR,HD CLEVELAND BRAKES,GEARED STARTER,UNDERSEAT STORAGE,EXT. BAGGAGE,METAL HEAD LINER,GENERATOR, SAFETY CABLES, kX 155, LIGHT WEIGHT FABRIC. 82" PROP The catch is my tires are Schneider racing slicks they weigh in at 120 lbs with the brake disks on. It will be interesting to see when I install 31"BW and clevelands 44# savings and small batt. 13# plus another 7# light weight starter if it will really be a 1090 cub! By the looks of other posts his high dollar scales might of been off. I guess the end result is cubs don't fly themselves. You have to add in the lard ass in the front seat.

Tony, this is a point many of us have been trying to make. That and that you don't usually fly around with 1/8th of tank of gas and no baggage (although I too will admit, it is the most fun then).

I think we are going to start a new Super Cub Diet. You know, we have the South Beach Diet, and the Atkin's Diet, but we need a catchy phrase like "Gravel Bar Diet", or the Piper Diet...

How bout the Bush Bunny Diet.......?????????? :-?

There were bush bunnies when we went to the field with the grunts in Korea but that's another story...................

How about restraint?? If you think about what you'd rather haul around, 6 lbs of fat or a gallon of fuel, it might make things easier.

'Course, all most guys have to do to lose weight is stop drinking. Yeah, that's tough, I know, but just 'til you lose a couple of gallons of fuel.

:drinking:

Anne.
