PA-11 on edo 1400s

hi
To those who hopefully know these things-

I recently bought my first airplane- a PA-11. Bought it with the plan of getting it on floats, found a beautiful set of edo 1400s with J-3 rigging which I thought would work because the fuselages are the same. Turns out edo lists different part numbers for the the struts and wires. My question is, does anyone out there have a pa-11 on edo 1400s with j3 rigging, and if so, any issues? Also, if it turns out I truly need pa-11 rigging, does anyone have a set up in the barn that they might want to pass on? Probably like hunting for a unicorn but it's worth a try. Any advice and experience with this would be appreciated- thanks!

The fuselage fittings are the same. If they are truly set up for a j-3 they will fit and will give better performance because the J-3 has a different deck angle than any of the 1400's I have seen and work better. Might loose a MPH or 2 because the rear float strut is a little shorter giving better wing incidence for takeoff.

The only issue I can see that might affect anything is if the spreader bars are a different length

My PA-11 came with EDO 1320's with J-3 rigging. They proved to be too far forward on the PA-11 fuselage, and carrying any rear baggage was not feasible. EDO did that to accommodate the front fuel tank on the J-3, which the PA-11 lacks. I gave them to my A&P and bought a set of 1400's rigged for the PA-11.

Ask Eddie Peck at Peck Aero if the 1400's were rigged like the 1320's...further forward on the J-3.

Seems like this is a recent thred. Yes, the rigging is very different between the PA-11 and J-3. I had purchased a mint set of EDO 1400's that have never seen the water or an airplane. I have the complete rigging for a PA-11 including the rear bolt-on fittings, some of the parts are still in original packaging. I am considering buying a J-3 with a C-90 and would possibly trade rigging if you hadn't already found a path forward.
