PA-11 Front Seat and mounting points

Hi guys,
I have a J3C with C90 and a lots of -11/-18 mods. 12 gal wing tanks (no nose tank), removed knee breaker bags in the front, -18 baggage and elevator, -18 rear seat, etc.

My front seat looks like an -11 seat and doesnt screw directly down into the floor like a normal J3 seat. It bolts into the structure and also folds forward. Even with what I think is the -11 seat, it seems like there is no leg room or headroom up front. Not even possible to physically fly it at 5'10". I took a picture of a real PA11 this weekend and it seems like there seat is mounted farther back. Could this be the case that PA11 seats mount at a different station than a converted J3 even though they are so similar? If so, does anyone know of a 11 or 18 seat that sits farther back and has more recline or adjustability?

Sorry, I know this topic of trying to fly J3s from the front has been beaten to death. I just would like to be able to see over the nose better off airport and if I decide to instruct in it, more room would great. It seems like my plane is pretty close to a -11 but just not quite the room up front, regardless of the mods. 2 inches would be a game changed.

I have an experimental 11 but I have a folding, adjustable front seat that I leave in the full back position making it quite comfy. Mounts in the standard location. It slides back 2 1/2” homemade of course

I don't know the dimension, but yes, the PA-11 front seat is mounted slightly aft of that of a J-3. The bottom of the seat is also slightly higher.

Woah. Special seat!? You wanna make two of those? I’ll give you happy price. That seat sounds and looks perfect.

Old post but I figured I would post some pictures of my front seat. Does this look like a stock pa11 seat to you guys? And -11 mounting location? There is a pretty good amount of room between the stick and back of seat. Was hoping to find another seat and open up a little space.

We put a Smith Cub 18 seat in my 11 20+ years ago. I think we shortened the legs a couple inches and modified the back angle.
