I've had someone tell me they are not seeing images (in posts) on the forums since the upgrade. It is true that the system uses a new format to store and display images (even the old ones), but most browsers have supported it for many years (webp). The report was from a Mac user, so if you are a Mac user with a similar experience, check the versions below:
Safari 14 and Later: WebP support was introduced starting with Safari 14, which requires macOS Big Sur (11) or later. This means that users on older macOS versions will not be able to view WebP images properly
You can download and run Chrome, Firefox, or most other modern browsers on older versions of MacOS - that is probably the easier solution especially if your hardware will no longer accept new versions of MacOs.
