Great Thanksgiving yesterday. 17 family members here for dinner. 10" of heavy snow, power went out about 1pm. Generator had trouble keeping up

with all the demand of hotplates etc..I juggled the power all day but even though it didn't go as planned we had a great time. I towed kids up the sled hill till 10pm on my old sled.
Very thankful for such a awesome day with family

Glenn

Glenn, those old sleds are really coming into being again, around home theres a lot of interest, lotta meets popping up now. just to find parts for them. i think its going to get a lot stronger since alot of the new ones have crossed over the $20,000 mark. whats cool is being able to look back and know what each sled was like, but the price reflects it on the used market. my son just restored one of those big black mercurys, 250, its a blast to ride. even the local kids are after these old sleds. I would like to get over to brainerd this winter to watch the one lunger 100, i think there going to have it again, and also to walk through jays airplane shop?

Been snowing since Thanksgiving

Buddy got his 1961 tin cowl doo out

It is here for me but I’m alone for adventures in WNY.
Sorry, Jim, but with rain and 44F today, it wasn't worth installing my wheel replacement skis last Friday.

Your Trickairs are really the answer for our region. I'm trying to convince my neighbor with the Denali Scout to get a pair. He is a seaplane pilot but has never flown on skis. Once I can get him up when I have skis on the Cub, he will probably be sold. I should see if Trickair will pay me a commission.

TrickAirs are real pricey now. I have had mine 10ths. and they were $4k with free shipping. They are now $8500.

It was too nice of a day to waste. Flew with the door open, landed on a few gravel bars, over the top of mt Washington mostly, some sandbars and got home before the streetlights came on. I’d like some snow but today didn’t suck. The bald eagle wasn’t too happy we landed on his sandbar.

Started snowing lake effect here last Tuesday. 30 mph winds till this Sunday. I probably got 2' but can't find it as the wind blew it away. It was a narrow 30 mile wide band of snow. Or buddy Jeff up in Poland just North of Utica NY got 40+" the first day, ended up over 4'. Our buddy Pete in Camden NY got 66" before it ended. Lee Center NY got 75"
Might turn into a good ski season yet

Glenn

Installed the straight skis last Saturday when sub-freezing temperatures were forecast for several days. Same situation as you, Glen; 10 miles north of here the lake effect left lots of snow but none on our runway.

Just enough snow fell yesterday to make it flyable on skis. Lets hope it stays for a while.

We have been having cold and lots of wind . Snow is blowing away here also maybe 10” on the ground but the RWY it’s 4” because of the wind. Still early lots more winter coming.

My TrickAirs are a blessing in weather like this. I can fly around and find snow or just enough. Today lots of grass showing through but the ground frozen so I can call it ski flying.
