non-skid under the float spreader bars

Our club has had a couple of incidents where the float plane has slid off the rails of the float truck, causing damage. The rails have thick rubber strips in contact with the aluminum spreader bars. We're thinking of painting the underside of the spreader bars with non-skid to make this less likely.

Can anyone think of a reason this might be a bad idea? We're in a mix of fresh and salt water. Seems like tape would be an invitation for corrosion, but paint would be OK.

Thanks,
Scott

I just loop a rope around one of the bow cleats to prevent the plane from tipping back. Haven't had a sliding issue.
Your idea shouldn't do any harm.
