No U.S. Customs at Northway thru at least Jun 27

Just learned, due to staffing issues, Northway will NOT clear any planes for U.S. Customs thru at least Jun 27!

Apparently Fairbanks or Anchorage are your only other options.

Suggest doing customs at Skagway or Ketchikan. From Skagway you could either go up the coast or file a flight plan and overfly Canada, landing at Northway, Tok or several other options—depending on range and weather of course.

Ted, Years ago I used to clear customs at Eagle. It was very convenient after a flight from Whitehorse. Don't know if that possibility is still available.

The Postmaster at Eagle was the Customs person. That option went away many years ago.

Ref Eagle, surprised if it wasn’t Dennis as he owned/ran nearly everything in that village. I always stopped in for a bite or to stretch my legs when working the Fortymile area. Good man, I hope he is still there and well.
