It means you can use a snow shovel as long as someone signs it off as part of your plane.

Funny you should say it like that Pete. Had a Champ buddy that did just that with an aluminum highway shovel

Roger did a really nice build for the Scott 2000 fork. It looked impressive and worked great when he was flying around with us.

I goofed, it wasn't Roger. He bent a nice one up out of flat stock and angle.

Shovel as a Tail Ski

Back in the day Coal shovels were the common basis for many Tail skis. Our old Maintenance guy here build several of them over the Years.

And no one back then expected any certification on Tail skis. After all they are only holding up the tail in snow one may argue.
