New Holstein Pavilion Capital Campaign Project...Please consider donating!

Anyone remember the howling winds and thunderstorms that seem to hit us at the New Holstein Flyin once or twice or thrice each year? I sure do...

These storms wreak havoc on not only the aircraft, but also the contents of the Pavilion. In the early years, tarps were purchased and suspended on two sides of the pavilion to protect items and people who are in the Pavilion when the storms hit. Despite best efforts to roll down those tarps when storms are eminent, we often had substantial moisture drench the contents of the structure. Additionally, the tarps have endured years of wear and tear, and we have decided to pursue acquisition and installation of Trac Rite “roll down” doors on two sides of the Pavilion.

Through the years, we have sought to actively not only improve the facilities of the airport to not only enhance the New Holstein experience, but improve the airport as a whole. Some of our larger improvement projects include the erection of the current pavilion, but the improvement and installation of the current shower facilities at the FBO, led by SJ. We want to continue the tradition.

The cost of this latest project is approximately $10,000 and should be completed in the spring of 2024. If you would like to contribute to this project, please take a minute to visit the website for the New Holstein Taildragger Flyin, www.fonha.org and click on the link (https://www.fonha.org/store/p/pavilion-door-capital-campaign).

"fonha", you ask? Friends of New Holstein Airport, folks, an LLC Jeff Russell and I founded in 2022 to keep this awesome tradition going!

Many thanks to you for considering donating to this noble cause!

This is a great update to the pavilion! Here is the "original" pavilion, somewhere I have a picture of it completely destroyed by wind.

2004 was the year those guys from maine showed up with a bunch of fresh "Laabstah"...
