Mogas for 0-320 160hp

Pieter

FRIEND
I just had my 0-320A2B overhauled to 160hp. I have about 60 hours on the new engine burning 100LL and all seems good. With the cost of fuel increasing I am thinking of going to auto fuel.
My question to everyone out there is, is auto fuel going cause me issues, what grade auto fuel should I use? I do not like our regular grade 87 octane because it has up to 10% ethanol in it. Our premium
and premium marked gas is 91 octane and no ethanol. Is it ok to mix the 100LL and auto fuel? will I notice performance issues?

Thanks for all comments

I have the same engine and asked Petersen Aviation for the requirements in the STC. The response is copied below. There are no restrictions that I know of regarding mixing auto fuel and 100LL but as you noted, avoid ethanol. You will probably want to get a tester to check for ethanol.

Yes we have STC’s for the PA-18 and 160hp engine. It sells for $2.00 per hp or $320.00 and approves it for 91AKI.

You may order here:
https://www.autofuelstc.com/order_online.phtml

We will need the engine and airframe serial and model numbers, the N number and of course your name and address.

Thank you and let me know if I may be of further assistance.
